Why Your Home Isn’t Selling

You've listed your home and the market is giving you your 2 week report card.

The verdict?  CRICKETS.  What gives?

Avoid these mistakes when selling your home:

The price is too high

Have your agent do a market analysis to see if you are competitively priced.

PRO TIP: Your home is NOT worth the upgrades you put into it or what your neighbors house sold for, it is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Your home is not clean

“Cleanliness is next to Godliness...” Even if your home requires a lot of updating that you are not willing to do, cleanliness and nice scents go a long way.

Your listing looks bad

Have professional photos taken. It’s well worth the cost as most people look online for homes. Beautiful pictures get people in the door and increase your chance of selling your home.

Your home is lacking curb appeal

Add some plant beds and mulch- this is an inexpensive way to punch up its appeal.

The interior is cluttered

Nothing will scare potential buyers away quicker than a cluttered home. Put excess décor and items that are cluttering your home in storage or boxes in your garage or attic.

Not enough marketing

Social media, community groups, magazines, postcards, email blasts to clients/brokers, calls to prospective buyers and agents, open houses for the public and brokers. It's all about getting the word out to the right people.  An agent can help you do that.
